About this wine
Volandas Merlot is a generous, approachable Chilean red that proves great Merlot doesn't need to cost a fortune. Sourced from the Central Valley, where warm days and fertile soils consistently produce ripe, fruit-driven wines of excellent quality, this is a bottle you'll find yourself returning to again and again. The nose opens with inviting aromas of ripe plum, black cherry and warm cassis, with gentle notes of dark chocolate and a whisper of soft oak spice.
On the palate it's beautifully rounded, with a silky smooth texture, approachable tannins and a lingering fruit-filled finish. Full of flavour without being heavy, it suits a wide range of occasions and is a natural partner for roasted meats, slow-cooked lamb, pasta bolognese or grilled burgers. Equally at home alongside a cheese board or simply enjoyed as an uncomplicated glass at the end of the day.
