About this wine

Antico Fregio Catarratto & Pinot Grigio is a bright, refreshing Sicilian white that brings together two complementary grape varieties to create an approachable, everyday wine with genuine Mediterranean charm. The native Catarratto grape — widely grown across Sicily and valued for its fresh citrus character and soft texture — is blended with the internationally beloved Pinot Grigio, adding crispness and clean, delicate fruit to create a wine that is greater than the sum of its parts.

The wine opens with lively aromas of lemon, green apple, and subtle white blossom, with the Catarratto contributing a gentle softness and the Pinot Grigio bringing a bright, zesty edge. On the palate, it's light and refreshing, with vibrant citrus flavours, good natural acidity, and a clean, dry finish that makes it effortlessly easy to drink. A wine without pretension — honest, fruity, and made for immediate enjoyment.

Sicily's warm climate and sun-soaked vineyards are ideally suited to producing wines with natural richness and character. Antico Fregio's easy-going style and accessible price make it an ideal choice for relaxed suppers, garden gatherings, and informal entertaining where you want something crowd-pleasing and reliably good.

Serve as an aperitif with olives and light antipasti, or alongside grilled fish, seafood pasta, fresh salads, light pasta dishes with pesto or cream sauce, and mild soft cheeses such as ricotta or mozzarella.

About the producer

Casa Vinicola Botter was founded in 1928 when Carlo Botter and his wife Maria began selling wine in the village of Fossalta di Piave, near Venice. Now in its third generation under Luca, Annalisa, and Alessandro Botter, the family company has grown into one of Italy's largest wine exporters, with a capacity of 23.5 million litres and a range spanning every major Italian appellation. Their own labels — including Cortestrada — capture each region's character with reliability and craft.
