Why we chose it

“Armagnac is what I reach for when brandy feels too polished. A decade in oak brings vanilla, cinnamon and candied orange — neat, after dinner, and please no ice.”

About this wine

Baron de Sigognac 10 Year Old Armagnac is a distinguished expression from a renowned house, expertly crafted by the Guasch family, who cultivate both Baco and Ugni Blanc grapes. This quality aged Bas Armagnac presents an inviting amber colour with mahogany highlights, setting the stage for a remarkable tasting experience.

The nose reveals a fine bouquet marked by enticing notes of vanilla, cinnamon, and candied orange. On the palate, expect a delightful roundness that unfolds with floral, woody, and spicy nuances, culminating in a long and satisfying finish of grilled almonds and vanilla.

Aged for a full decade and crafted from Baco and Ugni Blanc grapes, each step of production reflects the Guasch family's dedication to quality and tradition. Whether enjoyed neat or as a luxurious after-dinner drink, this Armagnac promises a refined and memorable experience.

About the producer

Baron de Sigognac is made at Château de Bordeneuve in Bas-Armagnac by the Guasch family, in Gascony since the twelfth century and distilling here since 1974. Jean-Claude and his son Thomas farm sixty hectares of Ugni Blanc and Baco, distilling in a traditional Armagnac alembic approaching its hundredth year. Long cask ageing gives their vintages depth without losing Gascon warmth.
