In Beaujolais, where Gamay grown across a patchwork of soils can vary significantly in character, this focus matters. Albert Bichot, one of Burgundy's most respected négociant houses, has applied their meticulous approach to this Beaujolais with impressive results.
The wine opens with the hallmarks of excellent Gamay: vibrant aromas of fresh red cherry, raspberry, and violet, with a subtle earthy spice in the background. On the palate it's supple and lively, with juicy red fruit, soft silky tannins, and a refreshing natural acidity that makes it deeply food-friendly and genuinely enjoyable.
Best served slightly chilled at around 14°C alongside charcuterie, grilled salmon, roast chicken, or a simple cheese board.
