About the producer

Celene is a Cremant de Bordeaux specialist based in Haux in the Entre-Deux-Mers, with a sparkling wine tradition dating back to 1947 when Michel Ballarin pioneered methode traditionnelle production using Bordeaux varieties. The current business was formed in 2015 when Etablissements Ballarin merged with Vignobles Lannoye, combining expertise with access to estates across Castillon Cotes de Bordeaux and Saint-Emilion Grand Cru. Celene wines are aged on the lees for a minimum of 24 months in 18th-century limestone caves.

Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blends from the Left and Right Banks. This rosé sparkling comes from Celène, made with Cabernet Franc and Merlot.

Herbaceous, peppery, medium-bodied. Loire and Right Bank Bordeaux.

Merlot

Plush, plummy, softer tannins than Cabernet. Great on its own or in blends.
