Why we chose it

“Most white rum is a blank space in the bottle; this has actual character — cane, white flowers, a mineral edge. The Mojito and Daiquiri bottle for a home bar worth the name.”

About this wine

Chairman's Reserve is the flagship rum from St. Lucia Distillers, one of the Caribbean's most respected distilleries. This White Rum is made from fresh sugarcane with column still precision, producing a spirit of clarity, restraint and genuine versatility — the essential mixing rum for any serious home bar. St. Lucia's volcanic island terroir contributes a subtle mineral freshness that sets it apart from generic white rums.

Crystal clear in the glass with a fresh, clean aroma of light sugar cane, white flowers and a characteristic vegetal freshness from the column still. Light-bodied and precise on the palate — clean, crisp and naturally refreshing — finishing with a gentle sweetness. Exceptional in a Mojito, Daiquiri or Ti' Punch, or simply served over ice with lime.

About the producer

St Lucia Distillers works in the Roseau Valley on the island's west coast, formed in 1972 from the merger of the Barnard family's Dennery distillery and the Roseau plantation works. Chairman's Reserve was first blended in 1999 under chairman Laurie Barnard, marrying pot and Coffey still rums aged separately and then returned to cask together.
