About this wine

Italian Merlot from Pasqua Vigneti e Cantine, Veneto

Pasqua is one of the Veneto's most celebrated wine families, with three generations of expertise crafting wines from the north-east of Italy's richest wine region. The Colori d'Italia range celebrates the breadth of Italian varieties across the country, and this Merlot draws on fruit from the Trevenezie IGT zone — a broad and diverse appellation that encompasses much of north-eastern Italy's finest viticulture.

The 2023 vintage is smooth and approachable, with a core of ripe plum and dark cherry, hints of dark chocolate and soft, velvety tannins that make it an easy-drinking red for any occasion. Well-balanced and medium-bodied, it pairs naturally with lamb, pasta with meat sauce, grilled vegetables and mild hard cheeses.

About the producer

Founded in Verona in 1925, Pasqua Vigneti e Cantine is one of Italy’s most celebrated family-owned wineries. Four generations of the Pasqua family have shaped a distinctive Veneto style — expressive, fruit-forward wines rooted in the region’s great appellations: Amarone, Valpolicella and Soave. Today the estate spans 250 hectares and exports to over 60 countries, with a growing reputation for innovative rosé and natural wine projects.
