About this wine

Crama de Matei Rosturi is a modern Romanian white blend from the Dealu Mare region, combining two indigenous grape varieties: Feteasca Regala and Feteasca Alba. The wine is fermented in stainless steel at cool temperatures to preserve freshness and aromatics. Feteasca Regala contributes freshness, citrus character, floral aromatics and vibrant acidity, while Feteasca Alba adds texture, softness and subtle apple and pear notes, helping to create balance and elegance.

Pale yellow with bright lemon highlights, the nose offers floral aromas of acacia, elderflower and linden blossom, alongside citrus and ripe fruit notes. The palate is crisp and refreshing, showing apple, grapefruit, peach, pear and lime flavours with lively acidity, good structure and an elegant, zesty finish. An excellent alternative to Sauvignon Blanc or Albariño for anyone looking to discover something different, it works particularly well with seafood, shellfish, grilled white fish, soft cheeses and light chicken dishes.

About the producer

Crama deMatei works eighty hectares in the eastern reaches of Romania's Dealu Mare, on the Tegăneanu and Zorilor hills where some vines are over forty years old. The winery was formed in 2019 when Vintruvian Estates acquired the Zorești property and the Prince Matei label, in production since 1998, and set about reworking both vineyard and cellar.
