Why we chose it“David Finlayson Camino is one of the Cape’s finest aged Chenin Blancs. Old-vine Chenin, barrel-fermented — honeyed, mineral and extraordinary. South Africa at its most compelling.”

About this wine
David Finlayson is the cellarmaster at Edgebaston, one of Stellenbosch's most admired boutique estates, and Camino is his personal project dedicated to Chenin Blanc, South Africa's most planted grape and, in the right hands, one of the country's most expressive varieties. This Camino bottling sources fruit from old, low-yielding Chenin Blanc vines in Stellenbosch, where decades of root development produce grapes of exceptional concentration and complexity.
The wine is textured and generous on the palate, opening with ripe apple, quince and a hint of beeswax, with lively freshness cutting through the richness to deliver a long, satisfying finish. Bone dry and beautifully crafted, it pairs brilliantly with grilled fish, roast pork, creamy chicken dishes or a well-aged hard cheese.
