Terra Alta Garnacha Blanca from Herència Altés
Herència Altés is run by siblings Gerard and Núria Altés — a highly regarded Terra Alta producer focused on the native Garnacha Blanca grape and other indigenous varieties. Terra Alta is a remote, elevated plateau in southern Catalonia celebrated for its ancient Garnacha Blanca vines, stony terra rossa soils and strong winds, conditions that produce wines of remarkable depth, mineral texture and genuinely distinctive character. The wines of Herència Altés have brought international attention to this underrated appellation.
The 2024 Garnacha Blanca is bone dry and freshly aromatic, with ripe peach, citrus and a distinctive mineral quality on the nose. The palate is clean and precise with a long, stony finish that speaks of the old vines and the Catalonian plateau. Excellent alongside grilled white fish, roasted vegetables, rice dishes and mild soft cheeses.
