Carménère is Chile's signature red grape — once thought lost from European vineyards, rediscovered thriving in the warmth of Chile's Central Valley. Lomas Carrera has crafted this 2023 vintage to showcase the grape's most appealing traits: supple tannins, generous dark fruit and the distinctive hint of green pepper and spice that makes Carménère unlike any other red variety in the world.
Deep ruby in colour, the nose opens with dark cherry, plum and a lift of green bell pepper and warm spice. Medium-bodied on the palate with velvety tannins and a smooth, satisfying finish, this is an easy-drinking wine that punches above its weight. Serve with grilled lamb chops, hearty stews or mature cheddar.
