About this wine

Panizzi Vernaccia di San Gimignano is a refined Tuscan white crafted by Panizzi, a producer known for championing the character of Vernaccia di San Gimignano since its first vintage in 1989. Made from 95% Vernaccia with 5% Incrocio Manzoni, the grapes are sourced from four prized vineyards around San Gimignano. Hand-harvested fruit is gently pressed before cool fermentation in stainless steel, then matured on its lees for five months to build texture and finesse.

Pale straw in colour, the nose is lifted and expressive with spring flowers and fresh citrus aromas. The palate is vibrant and beautifully pure, showing flavours of green apple, pear, white peach and grapefruit. Dry, crisp and mineral, it finishes with the subtle almond-like bitterness that is a hallmark of classic Vernaccia. A superb Italian white wine for aperitifs, seafood, soups, white meats and fresh cheeses.

About the producer

Panizzi is a leading producer of Vernaccia di San Gimignano, Tuscany's oldest DOC wine and the first wine in Italy to receive DOC status in 1966. The estate's vineyards surround the medieval towers of San Gimignano, producing Vernaccia of mineral precision and elegant structure, along with Chianti Colli Senesi and Super Tuscan blends.
