About this wine

SA Prum Lay Bernkastel Riesling VDP Grosse Lage comes from one of the finest sites in the Mosel, with the Grosse Lage classification representing the highest level of vineyard quality in Germany. Hailing from the prestigious Bernkastel vineyard and crafted with meticulous care, it captures the true character of the Mosel Valley with vibrant aromas of citrus fruits, green apple and subtle hints of petrol, typical of great German Riesling.

On the palate, lively crisp acidity is complemented by fine minerality that carries through to a long, refreshing finish with touches of honey and white flowers. Best served chilled alongside fresh seafood, especially oysters or shellfish, grilled chicken with lemon or lightly spiced Asian cuisine. It also complements soft cheeses such as goat's cheese or Brie.

About the producer

S.A. Prum is one of the Mosel's most historic wine estates, founded in 1911 by Sebastian Alois Prum in the village of Wehlen, though the Prum family's viticultural roots in the region stretch back over 200 years. The estate owns over 15 acres in the legendary Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard, named after a sundial painted on slate by a Prum ancestor in 1842, producing benchmark Rieslings of extraordinary precision and longevity. Today the estate is run with great distinction by Saskia Prum.
