About this wine

Crafted from carefully selected Chardonnay grapes grown on the limestone slopes of Somerset's Langford vineyard, Smith & Evans Higher Plot Chardonnay is a beautiful reflection of English terroir. Fermented and aged in oak barrels, it offers layers of ripe citrus, baked apple and subtle hazelnut, balanced by bright acidity and a clean mineral finish.

An expressive English Chardonnay with finesse and structure, perfect with roast poultry, creamy seafood dishes or simply enjoyed on its own.

About the producer

Smith & Evans is a small, artisan English sparkling wine producer founded by Guy Smith and Laura Evans at their Higher Plot Farm on the edge of the Mendip Hills near Langport, Somerset. Their single-hectare vineyard — planted with Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay on well-drained south-facing slopes — produces wines of remarkable purity and precision using traditional Champagne methods. The Higher Plot Late Disgorged is a particular showcase of the depth achievable from this exceptional West Country site.
