About this wine

Made by the Somerset Cider Brandy Company at Burrow Hill Farm, this is a lovingly crafted fruit spirit combining tart Morello cherries with the clean, crisp character of Somerset apple eau de vie, a pure spirit distilled from fermented apple juice. The result is a beautifully balanced drink where the tartness of the cherries mingles with the gentle apple freshness of the base spirit, creating something rich, complex and unmistakably British in character.

Serve it neat in a small glass as a digestif, drizzle over ice cream or use it to lift a cocktail into something special. It also makes a genuinely distinctive gift for anyone who appreciates artisan spirits from the English countryside.

About the producer

Julian Temperley bought Burrow Hill at Kingsbury Episcopi in 1969, and spent twenty years fighting for the licence that let him distil — granted in 1989, reviving a Somerset craft that had all but vanished. Cider apples from the surrounding orchards are pressed, fermented and distilled on the farm, then aged in oak. The Slow Food movement recognised the work in 2003.
