A silky, easy-drinking Bergerac Rouge from Couleurs d'Aquitaine, blending 80% Merlot with 20% Cabernet Franc in a fresh, fruit-forward style that is light on oak and big on pleasure. The nose has classic Merlot appeal: red and black fruits, plum and a violet note, with spice and a whisper of vanilla on the palate and a smooth, approachable finish with gentle tannins. Exactly the kind of red you reach for mid-week.

Bergerac sits in the shadow of Bordeaux geographically and stylistically, but wines like this show it can deliver similar character at a fraction of the price. This one is brilliant with charcuterie, grilled meats, hard cheeses or a simple ham supper.
