Why we chose it“Oak vats that old do something you can taste, with vanilla and toast sitting under the apple. Pour it with pork or a hard cheese and treat it like a wine.”

About this wine
Thatchers Cider Barn Redwood is a small-batch cider produced at Myrtle Farm in Somerset, blended from a carefully selected range of bittersweet and culinary apples including Katy, Harry Masters, Dabinett and Yarlington Mill. Matured in Thatchers' 175-year-old oak vats and finished with oak chips, it delivers a golden cider of rich intensity and satisfying depth.
On the nose, subtle vanilla and toasted oak lift the fruity apple character. On the palate, it is full-bodied and deeply flavoured with a beautifully rounded finish, a cider that rewards those who appreciate provenance, tradition and genuine craft from one of Somerset's most respected cider makers.
