About this wine

Crafted from organically cultivated vines at the historic Vignamaggio estate in Greve in Chianti, this single-varietal Cabernet Franc is a vivid and characterful expression of Tuscany's IGT category. Deep purple-violet in colour, it opens with a rich aromatic profile of blueberries, ripe redcurrants and raspberries, lifted by fragrant herbs and a subtle hint of sweet pepper.

On the palate, it is elegant and structured, with smooth tannins providing excellent framework and a lasting, spiced finish. Vignamaggio's organic farming practices, on the estate since 1404, give this wine genuine terroir definition, an excellent match with grilled meats, herbed lamb or mature Italian cheeses.

About the producer

Vignamaggio is a historic Chianti Classico estate near Greve in Chianti, Tuscany, with a history spanning over five centuries. The estate is renowned for its connection to the Mona Lisa legend — Lisa Gherardini, thought to be Leonardo da Vinci's model, was born here in 1479. Today the estate produces outstanding Chianti Classico Riserva, Sangiovese, and international varieties from its beautifully preserved Renaissance gardens and vineyards.
