Why we chose it“Vignamaggio Vinsanto del Chianti Classico 2015 — aged in small barrels for years. Raisin, walnut, oxidative complexity. The traditional Tuscan sipping wine at its finest.”

About this wine
Vignamaggio's Vinsanto del Chianti Classico 2015 is a traditional Italian passito-style wine made from a blend of Malvasia Lunga del Chianti and Trebbiano Toscano. The grapes are naturally dried before fermentation, then the wine ages for four years in small oak barrels, sealed and left to complete a long, unhurried transformation. After a further six months of bottle rest, the result is a deeply concentrated wine with golden-amber colour and aromas of honey, toasted nuts and dried apricot.
Warm and intense on the palate, it is distinctly sweet yet held in beautiful balance by a racy, natural acidity. A classic accompaniment to cantucci biscuits, as tradition demands, though equally glorious alongside aged cheeses or simply savoured as a meditative finale to any meal.
