Why we chose it“Txakoli from Basque Country — one of Spain’s most distinctive wines. Bone dry, slightly fizzy, saline and herbaceous. Pour it from height and serve immediately with seafood.”

About this wine
Bodega Gorosti Flysch Txakolina is a wine that beautifully reflects its Atlantic origins. Light yellow in colour with frothing rims, it shows youthful aromas of citrus, wet rocks and sea breeze freshness. On the palate, it's light-bodied yet vibrant, with lively acidity, gentle fizziness, and a palate-filling wave of citrus, lime and mineral notes. The finish lingers with ripe fruit, wet stone and a touch of saltiness, a natural partner to seafood, grilled fish or a plate of tapas.
Winemaker Juan Etxabe is a fourth-generation txakoli producer who planted Hondarribi Zuri vines in 2008 in the Basque Coast Geopark. The Gorosti winery sits in Elorriaga between the coastal towns of Itziar-Deba and Zumaia, where 95% of vineyards are grown on high pergolas to let coastal winds dry the grapes in this humid landscape. One of the most authentic expressions of DO Getariako Txakolina.
