Crozes-Hermitage Syrah by M. Chapoutier
M. Chapoutier is one of the Rhône Valley's most influential estates, with roots in Tain-l'Hermitage dating back to 1808 and a full commitment to biodynamic viticulture. Petite Ruche is their Crozes-Hermitage — the broad Northern Rhône appellation that surrounds the legendary hill of Hermitage itself. Made from Syrah, it shows the peppery, structured character the Northern Rhône does better than anywhere: dark plum, black olive, violet and a warming, spiced finish that lingers well.
Pair with lamb, grilled meats, duck or a rich Gratin Dauphinois. A serious, biodynamically farmed Northern Rhône red that punches well above its price point.
