Wine with pork · 296 wines

Pork is versatile — medium reds like Pinot Noir or Sangiovese for roast pork, an off-dry Riesling for richer belly, and dry rosé or Beaujolais with charcuterie.

Pork is one of the most versatile meats for wine, and both can work depending on the dish. For roast pork with crackling or pork chops, a medium-bodied red — Pinot Noir, Grenache or a lighter Zinfandel — tends to be the most satisfying match. For lighter preparations like pork fillet in a cream sauce, an oaked Chardonnay or Viognier is often better. As a rough guide: rich or fatty dishes lean toward red; delicate or cream-sauced ones usually suit white.
